Idannis shows the backpack they tore with a knife
To: Gibara Municipal Education Office
From: Sorania Cruz Rosales and Oscar Pupo Cruz
Sir, I am addressing you with the hope that you give me an answer about the situation of our daughter Idannis Rosario Pupo Cruz, a first grader at the Pedro Batista school.
The teacher, Eva Santiago, abuses her and does not help her in class, and a Brigada de Respuesta Rápida (Rapid Response Brigade) member’s son frequently pushes her and tore her backpack with a knife. I went to the techier with a complaint, and what she did was to threaten me that she would call the police. I replied that it is enough harassment against my daughter because we are human rights defenders.
Our challenging attitude is pacific, but we will not be intimidated by the abuse against our girl. This is unbearable, and we need you to give us an answer or we will go to a higher authority, and if necessary we will expose abroad what is happening against our girl.
